GT Classroom Management Plan
Students will be expected to follow our 3 classroom rules:
We will have a classroom discussion to “unpack” what these rules mean.
My goal is to have a good rapport with my students and interesting classes so that “discipline” is rarely necessary. If a student does, however, choose to behave in a way that violates the classroom rules, he will be given a friendly reminder. If the unacceptable behavior persists, his name will go on the board. If he still continues his misbehavior, he will get a check after his name. At that point, we will have a conversation, and possibly parent contact or office referral, depending on the situation.
I reserve the right to skip right to parent contact or office referral in dangerous or serious situations, such as bullying or other offenses outlined in our student handbook.
I believe:
It is important to resolve situations at as low a level as possible.
It is never appropriate to humiliate a student.
